Magic coach Stan Van Gundy has been around the NBA long enough to understand the business of selling a book – however tainted it may be — but he doesn’t have to like it. And with Tim Donaghy, the disgraced former league official, Van Gundy hates what he sees happening.

Since leaving prison, where he served 15 months on federal felony conspiracy charges that involved his betting on games in which he officiated, Donaghy has been on a media tour touting his book with unsubstantiated details of corruption within the profession.

“I think what he’s doing now is despicable,” Van Gundy said when asked about Donaghy. “I have trouble with it, trying to throw everyone else under the bus. You made a mistake. You got caught. Now stand up like a man and take your punishment.”
