What up, what up? How’s everybody out there these days?
The NBA schedule-makers are trying to kill us these days with sort of a weird schedule LOL. We were on the road for two games and five nights last week, then we came home and played one game in Orlando. Then, we had to go to Philly for a back-to-back. Rather than just stay up there and play New Jersey on Wednesday, we’re back home now for a game against Golden State tonight and then fly back to Jersey for a game on Friday. Then we’re back at home on Sunday afternoon against the Lakers.
I’m not complaining at all because we’re professional athletes and we get paid a lot of money to do what we do. Trust me, I know how blessed and lucky I am to be playing basketball. There’s really nothing in the world I’d rather do (well, maybe football too so I could show off my wide receiver skills). I just want you guys to know some of the traveling we do.
We are starting to play a lot better of late and we’re getting our chemistry down. We made a lot of threes against Philly on Monday and we had a pretty good win against D-Wade and the Heat on Sunday. We really needed to beat those guys because they had gotten us twice already and we could face them in the first round of the playoffs. So it’s always good to send a message in games like that when we can.
Not sure if you guys have noticed it or not, but I’m trying to be a lot more aggressive offensively. We have so many weapons on this team that sometimes any of us can get lost in the offense. I’m not a guy who gets a lot of plays called for me because our offense runs through Dwight and Vince, so a lot of times I have to create stuff on my own.
And instead of just taking threes, I’m trying to get more shots going toward the rim, too. That just makes my 3-point shot even more dangerous when they are back playing me for the drive. And you guys know that I love to post-up, so I’ve been mixing in some post-ups also.
It’s all good right now. I feel like our team is starting to come together and ramp it up for the playoffs. We have to get through this crazy travel and the rest of our schedule and hit the playoffs really humming.
Everything we do is about winning that trophy this season, and we all realize that now is the time to start making our push.
You guys be good out there. And GO MAGIC!!!
