The Seahawks have a day off Wednesday, which the players are all for, but it means that first-round draft pick Russell Okung won’t be in a Seattle uniform before Thursday, if then.
Workouts started Saturday and even on Wednesday there will be some night meetings as new coach Pete Carroll and his revamped staff put their mark on the offense and defense.
Okung, who played for Oklahoma State, has sat back and watched as three of the five players chosen in front of him sign six-year deals. The players taken after him in the first round all have signed five-year deals.
