NBA training camps can’t open soon enough for those who play the games — and especially so for those who enjoy watching the games.

A summer of free-agent frenzy was entertaining to follow, and so was the usual Shaquille O’Neal song and dance to see who he would trash in August. The Miami Heat were captivating.

This other stuff now has become too depressing. The latest flurry of NBA headlines just made us sad. Thursday morning was the most recent example.
