After dropping a second straight game in blowout fashion against LSU, junior defensive tackle Omar Hunter put a lot of blame on the defensive line for Florida’s struggles stopping the run.
The defensive line was having trouble handling blocks up front and controlling the gaps it was responsible for, which was allowing blockers to get through to the second level and seal off the linebackers for huge gains.
Against Auburn, the line was notably improved, and the improvement helped the entire defense play better.
“I felt that was one of our best games as a defensive line,” Hunter said. “It was a hard, tough, physical game on both sides of the ball. I think the defense really came together in that game. We definitely can learn from that and grow.”
